Doctrinal Statement
Joy Bible Study co-operates with Christians of many denominations, standing firmly within the historic evangelical Christian faith. This doctrinal statement of beliefs reflects the broad, mainstream, evangelical tradition which is consistent with the teachings of the Bible, and which has stood the test of history and experience.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We are Christ-centered, believing that God became man in the person of Jesus Christ and is both completely divine and completely human. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His approaching personal return in power and glory.
We believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone and recognize the Bible as the authority for what we believe, how we live, and as the inspired and infallible Word of God.
We desire to show the love of God, blending the teaching of personal salvation and the importance of living with Christ-like compassion toward all those in our communities and world.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that He empowers us for life and service.
We believe in the spiritual oneness of all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that through the gift of Jesus’ death on the cross our rebellion can be forgiven, and through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ we can be reconciled to God.
